Patients with crowded/overlapping teeth often ask us when they come for a consultation which type of brace would give them the best result and there is not always an easy answer to that question.
The truth is that in a lot of cases it doesn’t make a great deal of difference which system we use. Its the skill of the clinician (i.e. Mr Winston) that will ensure a great result.
There are loads of different types of braces that you can read about such as Fastbraces, Six Month Smiles, the Inman aligner and Damon braces to name just a few but in reality your teeth cant tell the difference between different braces.
Yes it is true that Damon braces is a low force/low friction system and six month braces take about six months to work but in reality it is the person who fits the brace and adjusts it that will be getting your teeth straight so don’t be drawn in too much by all the marketing that you read about orthodontics.
Mr Winston has over ten years experience treating orthodontic patients from around Oldham and Manchester and we have many hundreds of happy patients with straight teeth as a result of his treatments.
For our adult patients we offer all the major teeth straightening braces including invisible braces and lingual braces and very often we recommend Damon braces for our child patients for reasons that we can explain if you attend for a consultation.
On Friday we started treatment on three patients. One went for ceramic six month braces, one went for Damon braces, and one patient travelled from central Manchester to have six month lingual braces fitted.
