The answer to this is of course yes!
It used to be the case that if orthodontists wanted to move a tooth quicker you had to push or pull it with a bigger force. However, more recent research has shown that high forces on teeth can actually be quite damaging. The light forces Mr Winston uses for both six month smiles cases and Damon braces are below the pressure of the capillary blood vessels which supply the teeth with oxygen. This means that at all stages in treatment the pressure on the teeth is low and allows the teeth to maintain their essential blood supply which keeps them moving quicker!
This makes treatment more comfortable (less discomfort!), and quicker.
Of course it is important that before starting orthodontic treatment you have a full dental health check up to ensure your mouth is healthy. At Watson & Winston Dental Care we do this for all our orthodontic patients free of charge.
Because of the great orthodontic package that we are offering for our orthodonic patients at the moment which includes a free consultation and assessment, free x-rays where required, an all inclusive fee for clear braces (no hidden charges), a variety of payment options including interest free finance, free fixed and removable retainers, and free tooth whitening, more and more patients are coming to us from all around Manchester, including Stockport, Dukinfield, Hyde, Stalybridge and Glossop. The practice offers evening appointments and there is plenty of free parking.
